Design Principles

The site is based within an Opportunity Area which the Council consider appropriate for large scale development. Our proposals include a range of building heights to enable the delivery much needed new homes in Harrow town centre. On the perimeter of the site the buildings step down, acknowledging the relationships with neighbouring properties in the surrounding streets. Locating taller buildings towards the centre of the site respects the neighbouring context and ensures we make efficient use of this urban, brownfield site.

External Materials

A starting point for the material palette was to respond in a sympathetic but contemporary way to the surrounding context, taking reference from the Safari Cinema development to create a continuous dialog along Station Road.

The material palette has been carefully selected to create a strong sense of identity through colour, tone, and contrast. A set of complementary materials creates hierarchy and character across the site, whilst referencing and responding positively to the surrounding context.
