TESCO
Tesco have had a store on Station Road for nearly thirty years, one of over 7,000 shops now in operation which makes them the largest grocery retailer in the UK. Tesco employs over 300,000 people, the largest private sector employer in the country.
The Tesco Community Grants scheme provides funds to local community projects to fight holiday hunger, tackle mental health and support young people. Since 2016, the scheme has donated £111,096 to 43 local community projects in Harrow.
This Tesco store also participates in Tesco’s Community Food Connection programme which donates surplus food that is still fit to use to local groups and food banks. In Harrow this programme has donated 329,687 meals to foodbank charities and community groups.
